Silverlining Pursers was founded by Jessica Fletcher and Jake Fletcher, combining firsthand experience from both the administrative and operational sides of life onboard.
With a Bachelor of Business in HR and Accounting and a Purser CoC in hand, Jess progressed from stewardess to Purser on some of the world’s most prestigious superyachts. She understands what happens behind the scenes, the pressure, the pace, and the expectation of flawless operations without margin for error.
Jake has been at sea for 11 years and as a Chief Officer brings practical experience across operational planning, vessel compliance, safety management, crew management and maintenance. His Chief Officer perspective strengthens how Silverlining Pursers supports captains and senior crew.
On smaller and mid-size yachts, captains and heads of departments often balance multiple roles, not by choice, but because there isn’t the cabin capacity or operational need for a full-time onboard purser. The work still exists, just not at a full-time level.
On larger yachts, onboard pursers manage complex logistics across crew, finances, compliance, and guest operations. While highly capable, the volume of work often requires additional support, but not always at a level that justifies another full-time crew member onboard.
